Happy Monday morning for my time zone and Sunday evening to North America.
How is that novel coming? The same as four months ago. Editing and revising. Getting feedback. More editing and revising. Novels don’t get finished overnight, son! A good reminder to find inspiration in everything though.

OMG I miss good pizza…. Pizza Hut’s the only place I’ve found so far with real pepperoni but then one of my friends told me it was beef pepperoni…. *tear*. Looking forward to seeing your posts 🙂

LOL! Yeah, but my friends/family are an apathetic lot. 😉 Only one is reading it, and she’s on Chapter 13 (I’m working on 18 now). But I’m used to it … lol. It’s a bucket list thing. I have a short attention span when it comes to committing myself to something like this, so I wanted to see if I could stick to it long enough to actually finish it. It’s been interesting and entertaining.

Well 18 chapters….sounds like you’ve been able to stick to it pretty well! Yeah, I generally don’t have friends and family read my stuff. Love them, but they’re not the best readers, both because they don’t know how to critique and I’ve had quite a few say they’ll do then not haha. That’s what my writing group’s for lol. Well keep chugging along!

LOL … I hear that! I suppose we’ll both just keep clacking away on our keyboards. 😉 My husband reads my sporty posts, which I’ve not done in a while, but as soon as he sees the words “book” or “novel” they stop him in his tracks. Gotta love ’em, anyway.

Yesssssss . . . one interesting variation on that question I just had was, “How many hours does it take you to write a novel?” Ah, you want me to count the sleepless nights staring at a dark ceiling and plotting? Staring at a chapter and wondering why it’s not working? Rewriting one paragraph–or one sentence–a hundred times? Puzzling over a character while taking a walk with the baby? Non-writers have no idea how life-consuming writing can be.

No one knows I write, or I’m trying to write or I want to write. I sit safely here in this anonymous space, procrastinating.

I don’t even give a thoughtful answer (well, to some,yes, best friends, but the general question–the one that rhymes with ‘how are you feeling’). ‘Excellent. Couldn’t be better’ which was my father-in-laws answer to how his world was spinning.

it is grueling….. these last few rounds of edits….. about to send it off for a professional critique and after I revise that I’m calling it done and submitting to agents….. a whole different round of fun lol. Oh, my perpetually nearly finished novel haha.

Hahaaaaa you should’ve! It’s true though, it means not only are you writing, but you’re feeling confident to tell people you’re writing. I just came out as a writer, as it were, to my friends like a month ago lol 🙂

I was about 2 years into writing my first novel when my son sat me down to watch Stranger Than Fiction. I think it was a hint, but it didn’t work. I didn’t learn anything: it took 3 weeks short of 3 years to finish the alpha manuscript. When he came calling yesterday, he asked That Question about the second novel. I guess he didn’t learn anything, either….
